Campaign Design

I had the privilege of working with my friend Ryan Padilla on the branding for his latest project Little King. Little King is a music collaborative based off of Ryan’s lyricism and melodies; creating music for the beautifully broken. He and I wanted to create visuals for this project that represented the poignant and honest lyrics. He asked for a design that would encompass the entire album by creating iconography for each song that also blended together to make a full story. I knew almost right away that watercolor was the direction for this project. The funny thing was, I’d never painted with watercolor before. The work I did for this project was a complete adventure.

Dear Future Me

Dear Future Me was the first single released by Little King with an iconic line in the chorus; “Life won’t just be daisies and roses”.

Full Album

So This Is How Things Are Now was released with artwork that represented the titular band. The idea was that this character would be surrounded by all the images that represented each song, and, ultimately, the experiences that Ryan had and wrote about. Listen here.

Running

Running was the second single to be released. Its iconography was a maze that represented the journey through what seemed like recurring issues.

immersive Design

The final product was a full poster with 14 icons representing the 14 songs of the album, seamlessly blended together to create a single, storytelling image. The poster was sold as merch, but also doubled as a social media campaign. Each post was accompanied by lyrics from the songs that were represented in the artwork.

Apparel Design

I completed the brand by designing the apparel for Little King. Each shirt represents either the debut album or particular songs from that album, while laying the groundwork for future merch inside the brand.
